Description
Summary:One of the activities in the assembly of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) is the generation of insertion/placement programs for the insertion/placement machines. This laborious and time-consuming activity can be made efficient by developing a software that can automatically generate the insertion/placement codes. Among the tasks that this software needs to address is the generation of an efficient collision-free insertion/placement sequence. The software must be able to predict the possibility of collisions by the insertion/placement head with components already on the PCB. Such prediction is based on the geometry of the insertion/placement heads and components and is dependent on the types of component insertion/placement machines.
