Summary: | Matrix converters have been attracting the interests from both industry and academic
fields for more than two decades owing to its compact and “all silicon” topology; whereas the commercial applications of matrix converters are quite limited. This situation is caused by the lack of passive energy buffer in the power circuit, since this feature can lead to the complexity of control methods, the vulnerability to non-ideal supply conditions and the difficulty of practical implementation. Therefore, in order to speed up the process of commercializing matrix converters, the previous achievements on matrix
converters are reviewed firstly; and then one novel control method is introduced in this thesis to improve the performance of matrix converter system. |
