Summary: | The Electronic Records Management System (ERMS) was introduced to the Singapore Civil Service in 1999. Not only does the ERMS support critical information needs, it also contributes to overall corporate governance through proper management and preservation of corporate records and information. ERMS enables agencies to leverage on info-comm technologies to revolutionalise the existing way of managing, keeping, preserving and retrieving corporate records and information. More importantly, an ERMS plays the critical role of protecting the evidential nature of the records, so that the records can be used as evidence during litigation. |
