Description
Summary:The world is changing rapidly with the internet penetrating into every aspect of our lives. People are trying their best to shift as many things from the conventional platform to the network platform as quickly as possible, such as trading, shopping, banking etc. Unlike the real world, there is no police or effective regulation to keep the online world safe so as to make it trustworthy. Currently, the only method available for internet authentication is by using the not-so-liked ‘username + password’. Few people like it, as username plus password is neither easy to remember nor strong against attacks. Biometrics offers an alternative to the traditional authentication techniques. Biometric technologies use a person’s physiological or behavioral characteristics to judge whether the claimant is the one that he/she claims to be. Users of biometric authentication systems do not have to remember passwords because their physiological characteristics are their passwords.
