Many sociological studies have been conducted on how young children are socialised into their respective gender roles based on their biological sex and how gender roles have affected married couples on their work-family balance. This research paper studies how adult children who are not married and live in the same household as their parents, perceive their parents to have socialised them in the following areas: Children recounting their childhood socialisation by their parents; Allocation of household chores in the family and Parents’ expectation on the child’s education. This paper will give more insights on what contributes to the variation of gender-role socialisation that is done to adult children.
