Description
Summary:Our study aims to uncover the dynamics of trade between both countries and its impacts on Vietnam’s economy. This is conducted by examining several areas such as detailed export-import compositions, revealed comparative advantage, and extent of intra-industry trade. We also performed pooled regressions for the main exports of Vietnam to China, taking into account China’s WTO accession and several other factors. Our findings show that the rise of China will bring about many opportunities for Vietnam because of the potentials to export to China’s market, increasing intra-industry trade and greater economic cooperation.
