For the full potential of e-commerce on the Internet, agent technology has been investigated to automate the procedure of e-commerce - from product search and filtering to negotiation and transaction. Adding agent mobility will even provide better network utilization and better support to mobile users that can disconnect while their agents roam in the network. This report presents the outcome of the investigation taken up under project RG3/00 on the design and implementation of a multiple agent based system suitable for e- commerce applications. The investigation had three aspects. First, a hybrid agent-based architecture for e-commerce has been proposed and evaluated, a theoretical framework has been developed for complex e-commerce transactions and secure payment methods have been proposed and analyzed. 2008-09-17T08:04:51Z 2008-09-17T08:04:51Z 2004 2004 Research Report http://hdl.handle.net/10356/2303 Nanyang Technological University application/pdf
