Description
Summary:The contribution of this dissertation is threefold: and edge-based QoS architecture; a multi-service scheduling discipline; and a generic signaling protocol. We focus on an edge-based QoS architecture that provisions QoS for flows based on traffic information gathered by edge routers. In this architecture, traffic allowed into the core network by each edge router is viewed as a packet train. Edge-based Virtual Time Reference System (EVTRS) is a virtual time reference system proposed to provide information on a flow and an aggregation of flows for core routers.
