Machine compatible script for fast text entry of text using handwriting

This research investigated the potential of handwritten shorthand as a means of fast text entry on hand-held devices. Techniques of recognizing and translating two shorthand systems -- Pitman shorthand and Renqun shorthand, which represent English and Chinese respectively, are discussed in detail.
