In the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), 3G are called the International Mobile Telecommunications - 2000 (IMT-2000) which are being designed to support wideband services, at data rate as high as 2Mb/s, with the same quality as fixed networks. Wideband direct sequence code division multiple access (W-CDMA) is emerging as the predominant wireless access technology for 3G systems. Wideband CDMA is designed to flexibly offer wideband services, such as wireless Internet services (i.e., peak rate of 384 kb/s to download information from the Web) and video transmissions (data rate up to 2 Mb/s). The focus of this project emphasizes on hardware implementation of Turbo codec that conforms to the 3G standard. The Turbo coding scheme proposed in the implementation is 8-state parallel-concatenated convolutional code (PCCC). The polynomial generators of the constituent recursive systematic convolutional (RSC) encoders are 1011 and 1101. 2008-09-17T09:16:54Z 2008-09-17T09:16:54Z 2004 2004 Research Report http://hdl.handle.net/10356/2906 Nanyang Technological University application/pdf
