Summary: | The project started with the formulation of the requirements for the mission and deriving the system parameters for ADCS (Attitude Determination and Control System Design). These were reviewed by the experts committee. As the star sensor is the crucial attitude sensor, a thorough investigation for the mounting of the sensor was carried out considering the possible motion of sun and earth with reference to the body frame under all control modes. Besides the star sensor which is required to support the primary imaging payload, other factors which influence the control requirements of the bus are the X-band subsystem and the ADAM payload of X-SAT. Hence the tradeoff studies leading to the design of these systems are also supported by this project. The outcome of the mounting angle analysis of the star tracker and the trade-off studies of the X-band subsystem and the ADAM payload have fully contributed to the final design of ADCS. |
