Summary: | While enterprise systems typically support the synchronous client-server paradigm, the messaging system that provides asynchronous interaction style plays the ever-increasing important role within enterprise as well as cross enterprises. The various messaging systems exist. However, in most cases, they are proprietary and non-interoperable. This research project aims to investigate the state of the art of messaging systems for enterprises and address the following issues: messaging service styles (e.g., request-response, point-to-point, and publish-subscribe), interoperation of heterogeneous messaging systems via JMS, messaging system as backbone for interworking of various enterprise systems (e.g., office system, ERP), and messaging solutions for enterprise web services. |
