Summary:This dissertation presents the design & development of a control system for an offshore process platform. In recent years, control system design for offshore platforms has gained significant attention due to its stringent safety requirements, unmanned operation, high availability, operating cost and interface requirement with onshore facility for the centralise monitoring and integrated information system of the entire oil field. The control system can be further divided into process control system, safety system and supervisory control and data acquisition system.
