Summary: | The relevance of religion in modern times is a much debated topic in many academic fields. While no concrete answer can be found for the continued relevance of religion in general, this research applies the topic to a very specific context to which it may be possible, highly educated Singaporean Catholics. We investigate how these Catholics manage their religious identity using the habitus that they have acquired over their many years of religious upbringing. The management of a religious identity includes religious commitment, identification and handling the challenges to their beliefs such as religious pluralism, science and history. This paper also examines the extent to which secularization is occurring to these respondents at this point in time. |
