總結: | This paper examines the phenomena of young adult’s Catholic identity. Exploratory and qualitative in nature, Stand, Sit, Kneel throws light onto a group who has the lowest participation in the Catholic Church of Singapore. This research examines the contradictions between two climates: that of the two thousand year old Catholic institution and the contemporary lifestyles, norms and values of young adult Catholics in the twenty-first century. Of interest is how the historicity of the Catholic Church is handled by these young adults. This research questions the relevance of the Catholic faith, with her activities and teachings, to the lives of young adults. By employing the theoretical concepts of identity centrality and salience, this research examines the continuity, reaffirmation and tensions of young adult Catholics. |
