sg-ntu-dr.10356-358762020-11-01T08:08:15Z Indonesia's foreign policy towards the global war on terrorism : the Islamists' response Audrey Viadella Leonard Christopher Sebastian S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies DRNTU::Social sciences::Sociology::Terrorism 54 p. Islam has been the world's center of attention following the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It was because some wrong perceptions that generalized Islam and terrorists. But the most important thing is that the world, no matter who they are, has threatened by this whole terrorism issue, including Indonesia. As a country with the largest Muslim populations, Indonesia has also threatened by terrorism. Terrorism has been a major challenge for every post- Soeharto administration, started from Habibie, Wahid, Megawati, and the present Yudhoyono's administration. Habibie had to deal with numbers of communal conflicts. Wahid was challenged by several churches bombings on Christmas Eve 2000. Megawati was in charge when the first Bali bombings exploded. And the second Bali bombings took place under Yudhoyono's presidency.
