The environmental pollution and the reduction of the oil-based fuels are the greatest problems of the automotive-industry in the 21st century. There were and certainly there are a lot of experiments to substitute the petrol and the diesel oil with other fuels. One of these substitutes is the ethanol, also called bio ethanol. It is more environmental friendly than petrol and diesel oil, because it does not contain any sulphur and the net emission of C02 is zero. But ethanol is not used as major fuel in the world because of its less improvement in the performance.
