Summary: | The market for mobile games and applications, especially 3D games, is potentially huge and growing quite fast recently. Mobile technology has enabled developers to create games which not only perform well but also have amazing graphics capabilities. Although rhythm games, among which Audition is arguably the most popular, abound in the market, I found no rhythm game in 3D available for mobile phones at present. The primary purpose of my final year project is thus to design and develop a game of this kind.
In my project I seek to deploy a Java-based 3D rhythm game in which 3D Studio Max is used to create 3D models and to export the models in M3G format while Java™ ME Platform SDK 3.0 is employed as the IDE to develop the game. The game consists of 3 levels with increasing difficulties. In each level, players control the robot to dance in tune with the song and score in the process. They can advance to the next level only by obtaining sufficient score. In addition, there is a practice mode to make new players familiar with the game.
Singapore is definitely a large market for mobile phones with each user buying 1.2 mobile phones annually on average. This results in the promising market for mobile games and applications. |
