Adaptive color quantization using self-organizing feature map
In this thesis, we investigated the use of Kohonen’s SOFM for color quantization, with specific focus on the algorithmic modifications to allow efficient VLSI or ASIC implementation with acceptable perceptual quality of the reconstructed images.
