Users are able to explore and as they interact with the local agents (tour guides) associated with the location, they are able to have a better understanding of that location. However, it lacks interaction between users as it only presents the information of the landmarks in Singapore. In order to allow users to interact, share their thoughts with one another while in YOG Co-Space, a functionality called Mass Multiplayer Online (MMO) is introduced into YOG Co-Space. The MMO functionality can be subdivided into various smaller functionalities. The first functionality consists of information synchronization such as the user’s location in the 3D environment as well as the user’s avatar’s information between all the other users present in the same scene. The second functionality called avatar-customization is developed to allow users to choose an avatar and differentiate it from other users’ avatars by customizing it. This avatar-customization also allows the gaming component in the YOG Co-Space to enable certain avatar items when the user “levels up”. The last functionality would be communication between users while in YOG Co-Space. Users can communicate with other users via two different types of chatting system, public and private messaging. Public messages would be sent to all the users in the same scene whereas private messages would be only be seen by the designated user name.
