Description
Summary:This project is done with the respect of H.264/AVC standards. The purpose of the project is to do an investigation on the best method for frame prediction and also to find out on how pattern based distributed video coding (DVC) can help in the prediction process. With the investigation done, the advantage of different algorithm which helps in motion estimation, prediction of the frames and also advantages of using pattern based DVC can be figured out. An algorithm is designed to segment a moving foreground based on block-matching motion methods. Comparison is done to see the difference between all prediction modes on these macroblock. 3 different size of macroblock of 16 x 16, 8 x 8 and 4 x 4 are tested in this experiment. On the investigation on the pattern based algorithm with distributed video coding, I have 32 different types of pattern formats to compare with the macroblock of the difference of the current and previous frames. Experiments have been done by putting this information through the DVC encoder and compared with a predicted frame.
