Hooked is a 4 minute animated short film completed as a final year project at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) School of Art, Design and Media (ADM). It was produced and conceived by a team of 4 Digital Animation majors, Ang Yi Zhi, Chia Ying Herng, Kyi Phyu Hnin (Hazel) and Jerome Siew, with the intention of putting our cumulative creative and technical knowledge to the test. A story line was then produced which tackles issues on an impossible love and the thrills of the chase, and an idea which could only be described as Ugly Cute became the core notion of our project. We then began on a journey which covered an intense amount of research and co-ordination; and the results are a cohesive film with focus on mise-en-scène, which aims to bring an audience through 4 minutes of a balance between art and digital animation.
