Dreams, often interpreted on many levels, hold many surprises for desensitized city dwellers of the world. The eye has become extremely learned and has grown resistant to visual elements thrown together by the image makers of today that are designed to shock or surprise. This is an important observation which has encouraged me to embark on this project about dreams. I was more interested in the hypotheses surrounding the function of dreams; to relieve stress or trauma experienced in the waking hours . The act of repeating an event which has happened once in the day helps the body to get used to the unpleasant event when it is being repeated during sleep at night. This process of repeating makes it particularly relevant in the practice of photography as image-making is essentially making a copy of reality and producing more copies.
