Description
Summary:Many digital cameras offers a "panorama" mode, in which the camera stitches together overlapping shots to provide a 180 degree field of view. During the panorama acquisition, the user cannot adjust the zoom or focus of the lens. This limitation prevents the user from, for example, creating panoramas containing regions of interest with higher resolution. Nowadays a lot of panorama creator software available in the market. However, current software only allows user to stitch two or more images that are taken using same focal length. The aim of this project is to find and implement an algorithm that will create panorama image made of images with variable zoom and focus. Thus the user will be allowed to stitch two images that were taken using different focal length. Analysis of the problem, explanation of some terms that will be used quite often in this project, approaches that is used for the development are explained in this report in chapter 1, 2, and 3. Description of each development stage is explained in the chapter 4, including the description of the extra feature which is able to display the location of region of interest. While the experiment results and some analyses of them are discussed in chapter 5. The current system is already able to deliver stable and good performance under several experiments, which are done at indoor and outdoor environment.
