Summary:This dissertation describes the analysis and development of a noise probe for acoustic feedback cancellation in a digital hearing instrument (hearing aid). Acoustic feedback is one of the major complaints of hearing instruments users. Presently, there are primary two popular feedback cancellation methods for hearing instrument namely the feedforward suppression and the feedback cancellation methods. Feedback cancellation methods can be classified into the continuous and the non-continuous cancellation methods. In this project, we have adopted the continuous feedback cancellation method as it yields a better performance.
