Insights on methods to acquire sufficient income, especially through monetisation of housing, will be provided. The research methodology of this paper involves a survey on students and retired elderly to find out their opinions on pressing issues regarding retirement and housing. Comparisons will be done and differing views will be analysed in deeper context. Based on the survey results, recommendations and suggestions will be made so as to improve the current help schemes to provide better means in monetisation of housing and also adjust composition of housing stock to suit changing preferences in future when the younger generation retire.
