For the sake of robustness to the noise and discontinuity of curves, the Hough transform has been a classical algorithm to fulfil these tasks. However, the computational complexity and massive storage demand of standard Hough transform has been heavy workload of its applications. The main purpose of this thesis is to develop a modified algorithm of Hough transform to relieve its burden while maintaining its significant advantage of robustness.
