In this thesis, the bit-error rate (BER) performance analysis of uncoded coherent fast frequency hopped (FFH) systems utilizing binary phase-shift-keying (BPSK) modulation under partial-band noise jamming (PBNJ) and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) will be extended to systems utilizing binary frequency-shift-keying (BFSK) modulation. Three diversity-combining receivers namely, the coherent maximum likelihood (ML), linear combining (LC) and hard-decision majority-vote (HDMV) are proposed for the coherent FFH/FSK systems. Moreover the performance analyses of the FFH/BFSK linear combining receiver and maximum likelihood receiver are extended from the non-fading AWGN channel to the case of frequency non-selective slowly fading channel, characterized by the Rayleigh probability density function. The BER expressions are derived and Matlab simulations performed to verify the analytical expressions.
