Due to the rapid growth of radio-frequency wireless communication, the conventional radio-frequency spectrum is mostly occupied by radionavigation, television, radio broadcasting, mobile services and satellite transmission etc. Therefore, the demand for bandwidtii is very high. This resulted in the replacement of satellite- and land-based microwave systems by optical fiber systems which do not require the subscription of bandwidth as signals are transmitted as light within the fiber. The technology is called millimetre wave signal over fiber which involves the transmission of millimetre wave signal with frequency ranging from 30GHz to 300GHz, wavelength from 10mm to 1mm, between central station and base station over optical fiber.
