sg-ntu-dr.10356-391602023-07-04T15:45:44Z Buck-boost inverters designed using reduced active semiconductor devices Duan, Na. Loh Poh Chiang, Andrew School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Electronic systems 70 p. Voltage-source inverters (VSI) have to date found many applications in the industry with many topological options available for selection depending on the particular needs and scenarios under consideration. Inverters designed using reduced active semiconductor devices can be of interest to the industry because of their lower cost and enhanced reliability linked to their less complex gating and control circuitries. Therefore a number of researchers have researched into them with a number of topologies and modulation schemes for controlling such inverters studied and tested experimentally. However, despite their simplicity, those proposed inverters (referred to as "traditional inverters" in this report) with reduced active components can to date perform only either voltage-buck or boost operation.
