Recovering hydrocarbon resources from post consumer plastic wastes represents a more sustainable and holistic waste management alternative as compared to current incineration and landfilling for waste disposal. The aim of this study was to investigate the chemical compositions and energy content of the products yielded from the pyrolytic degradation of Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), Polystyrene (PS) and the mixture of them in both clean and contaminated conditions.
