Summary: | Inadequacy of safe water for drinking and sanitation purposes in emergency situations has been growing into an increasingly pressing issue in the modern world as the number of disasters keeps rising in various parts of the globe and their frequency of occurrence escalating. By focusing on the two major water treatment parameters, namely turbidity and fecal coliform, the project aims to formulate water purification chemicals that can be universally applied to different post-disaster situations. The chemicals provide the victims with alternative access to safe water which gains additional time for the external rescuing teams to reach the disaster location. |
