Description
Summary:The energy industry is a major contributor to the Singapore economy and their goal is to increase the value-added of Singapore's energy industry from $20 billion to around $34 billion by 2015. As the world is moving towards a Clean Energy environment, Singapore must take more focus on the implementation and research activities about the Clean Energy industry. Singapore aims to grow this industry, generating S$1.7 billion of value‐added by 2015. The Clean Energy industry comprises a broad range of areas, including solar power, fuel cells, wind power, energy efficiency and carbon trading. Because of the liberalization of the Singapore Electrical energy market and the opening up of Electrical retailing market, Singapore energy market will meet a new scene. More and more retailer coming into the market, how to satisfy the customers with the better price and better service is the problem that energy companies will meet. However the current system of tracking energy consumption using electro-mechanical is unable to meet the requirements of the new energy market in Singapore. Here is why ITMBS come out. This Intelligent/ Trading /Metering /Billing /System (ITMBS) will be the upgraded version of Automatic Metering/Reading/Billing System (AMRBS) developed by the earlier FYP groups. Previously the AMRBS is a system catered to accumulate readings automatically and bill the electricity consumption of each user, whereas ITMABS is an improvised version which allows the users to select the electricity suppliers to utilize meter electricity sold to the power grid by the users. This will facilitate the new requirement for electricity metering after considering family's renewable power (such as fuel cell, solar and wind) produced. This report makes an introduction to background of Clean Energy in Singapore, a review on the system both hardware and software done by the previous group and the website interface and database management done by the author.
