Description
Summary:Evolutionary art as its name suggests, exploits the process of evolution to create an art piece that evolves based on a certain kind of selection. This form of art is relatively recent and has been progressing at a tremendous pace in this age as computer technology has been rapidly improving. What this project aims to create is an Interactive Evolutionary Art System in which intelligent agents are used to represent an electronic artist that creates a non-photo realistic (NPR) picture from a photo. Interactive Evolutionary Art combines the ideas of user interactivity, software algorithms for style learning and image processing together as one whole system. This project was broken down into sequenced modules or segments like image segmentation, style sheet generation, style assignment, style learning and individual learning to help the flow of the development. The project progressed in two phases namely the research phase and the development phase, where research consisted of understanding two existing modules namely the Impressionist Painting and Interactive Ant Sketcher as well as algorithms and modules that will be including in this Interactive Evolutionary Art System. Development of this system was done such that individual modules were separately developed and combined part by part to form the end result as concluded in this report.
