Summary: | Due to the increasing demands for high-quality and high-speed multimedia services, it has raised the new challenge for the cellular communication system to increase the capacity to support the growing cellular subscribers. In addition, as the data rates increases, energy consumption goes up accordingly, causing much burden to the environment and expenses for the communication operators. Therefore, designing an efficient resource allocation scheme and architecture for the cellular system to improve the output performance and reduce energy consumption will be the main tasks for future research.
For this research, inspired by the Multihop Cellular Network (MCNs), I build a comprehensive simulation model taking consideration of path loss, shadowing, inter-cell and intra-cell interference and other service requests for both single hop and multi-hop cellular system based on TDD-CDMA. In addition, by now few researchers have considered the differences between the fixed relay station and random relay station. Therefore, a deep investigation of the system performance and energy consumption including the hardware energy for different relay stations architecture is taken in the research. The system performances in term of energy consumption in the downlink are also examined for different time slot allocation schemes. The objective of the project is to find the optimal time slot allocation scheme and the relay station structure. |
