Summary:The project involves the building of the NTUSat-1 “Nanosatellite” (one which is less than 10kg) by using Commercial-Off-The-Shelf components (COTS) with some kind of “space heritage”. The satellite must also conform to the “CubeSat” standard set forth by Stanford University to reduce the launch costs. For this project, I have been responsible for changing the structure design parts using Solidworks, the CAD package which the initial design was based on. I also had the responsibility to integrate an I2C connected colour sensor to the satellite, handle the calibration of this, and recommend an in-orbit subroutine for reading the sensor to handle wide variations in light intensity.
