In this research, I am to synthesis polyaniline through chemical polymerization. The main advantage of chemical polymerization is that it can be mass produced at a reasonable cost. After synthesis of the polyaniline, it is subjected to characterization. The equipment use for characterization are the Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope(FESEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR), Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and Thermogravimetric analyzer(TGA). To obtain the optimal polyaniline nanostructure, parameters such as aniline monomer, reaction time, temperature, and solvent were varied. It is found that that using 0.3g of aniline dissolved in methanol to react with 8.1g FeCl3 at a temperature of 50 degrees for 30 seconds produces the best polyaniline nanostructures.
