Hence, induction generators are increasingly being used in remote areas to generate electrical energy from renewable sources such as wind or hydro systems. However, the wind or hydro generating system has some constraints on the size of an individual generator. Therefore, in order to utilize the full potential of the site, it is necessary to install a number of small generators. The generators are usually connected in parallel to form an autonomous small-scale generation scheme. Therefore, this final year project studies about the parallel operation of induction generators driven by unregulated wind, thus analyze and compare the performance of the fixed speed and variable speed generators.
