Summary:This Final Year Project aims to review the safety and health regulations pertaining to underground constructions. Although there are several sets of regulations involved in underground constructions, the main concern in this FYP report will be the safety and health regulations regarding excavation, tunneling, confined space and underground works. Relevant safety and health regulations will be obtained from Europe, United States of America and Singapore. They will be studied thoroughly to understand how the agencies draft their legislations. The information researched, will be analyzed and compared. The author will then conclude on a better model of health and safety regulations that will help Singapore achieve its target in occupational safety and health. The results of this research will present valuable research for improvement of the existing safety and health regulations pertaining to excavation, tunneling, confined space and underground works and it will lead to a better risk management model and a reduced rate for injuries and fatalities.
