Active Noise Control (ANC) will be topic to be studied and discussed in this report. It is always good to visualise and have an overall picture of any system before going into its details or mathematical calculation. Therefore, ANC concepts will be presented in a graphical method before going into the mathematical jargons. Important design consideration for AFBANC system will be discussed in details and recommendations are provided that may serve as a guideline for the designing stage of AFBANC system. Due to some design considerations, this project focuses on building the AFBANC system on loudspeaker with adjustable gain for the initial building stages instead of building it on a headset which will be discussed under recommendation section in Chapter 6.Simulation is carried out to understand the behaviour of AFBANC and to ensure the adaptive algorithm is correctly implemented and working properly in a controlled environment. Once the simulation is done, the simulated AFBANC can be modified to work as a real time system. A detailed and step by step implementation procedure will be provided. Experimental results are provided to verify the performance of the system as well as understanding the parameters that affects the overall performance of the system. After building the AFBANC system, AFBANC will be modified into IAFBANC by integrating online modelling into AFBANC making the whole system more robust. The author hopes that this report will help to shorten the time required to understand and build an ANC system for the reader.
