Description
Summary:In this final year project, Huang Zirui and I derived a recipe for water purification chemicals. This recipe is easy to prepare, able to deal with common water sources in the disaster areas. It involves coagulation and disinfection processes to make the water reach drinking water standard. The dosage of the chemicals is dependent on water source condition. This recipe is based on our research and laboratory experiments. We examined the existing recipe and emergency water treatment guideline. Then, we performed coagulation test to determine the proper coagulant and its dosage. It is proved that the dosage is increasing as the turbidity increases. Disinfection test was performed to determine the disinfectant use. From the experiment results, a Multi-process method is proposed for emergency water treatment.
