Description
Summary:A distributed energy system normally consists of a number of small-scale distributed energy sources, such as microturbines, fuel cells, solar photovoltaic and wind turbine to produce electric power at locations near to customers. Due to the large varieties in the distributed locations, managing and operating the distributed energy sources become a complicated task. Network communications, intelligent meters, and sophisticated software are necessary to optimize the power generation and ensure a high level of power service reliability. The objective of this project is to design and develop an intelligent wired sensor network for real-time monitoring and control of power generation and distribution within the distribution network. A graphical user interface (GUI) is designed incorporating sensing and communication devices for interfacing with distributed energy sources, customer loads and distribution network.
