Summary: | This report details the control strategy of several mirosources integrated to a microgrid. The mircosources used are solar cell panel, fuel cell and battery.
A microgrid is a local scale power system that utilizes microsource generation scaled either by electrical or thermal output to the local system demand. It can serve customers with multiple load locations, an industrial park, or a university campus. The microgrid is designed to transfer power seamlessly between connection with the local utility and isolated operation.
The microgrid is able to provide uninterruptible power supply, enhance local reliability, reduce feeder losses, and support local voltages/correct voltage sags.
This project aims to design the microgrid network that utilizes the mircosources and explore the control strategies for the microgrid to operate in grid-connected mode. The proposed system is not limited to compensation of harmonic currents, power factor and nonlinear load unbalance, but also can be used for control of active and reactive powers. |
