Description
Summary:This project aimed to design an efficient and compact domestic automatics ironing machine. This report would cover an overview of the properties of different fabrics and the principle behind wrinkle removal and formation. Research on existing designs and prototypes were studied, which would lead to a new conceptual design. The proposed automatics ironing machine consists of pressurize steamer which was used to relax the fabric directly and a special designed clipper to tension the fabrics which would straighten them. The equipment would be fitted in a nicely designed cabinet. A prototype with similar concepts was fabricated for proof of concept. Experiments on the proposed conceptual design were conducted to evaluate its effectiveness on the different types of garment. Results have shown that the machine has achieved better results for selected fabrics and only average for the rest of the fabric. The objectives concluded critical reviews; however, the final design would need to be refined with further testing and evaluations.
