Description
Summary:Traditionally, geotechnical engineers often use the finite element method (FEM) and discontinuous deformation analysis (DDA) to deal with geotechnical rock mechanics problems. As the technology advances, the numerical manifold method (NMM) has become more and more popular among geotechnical engineers. It is applicable for many complex conditions that are not possible with other methods. Based on the NMM, Nanyang Technologies University (NTU) with a team of Researchers led by Dr. Ma Guowei has developed the solver technologies and Block Model Building for 2D. The project explores the basic theory of the numerical manifold method (NMM). By using the software, comments and suggestions should be proposed to help to consummate the software. Case studies are done by using the NMM2D Solver. Write the user manual for the NMM2D Solver.
