Description
Summary:This report provides documentation for the investigation and characterization for slant path provided by the signal for frequency within the C-band (4-8 GHz). An in-depth study and analysis of the data obtained from a flight trial was done. Direct Spread Spectrum Sequence (DSSS) sounding technique using Pseudo Noise (PN) was used for the channel used for transmitting (Aircraft) and receiving (Ground Station). The purpose of the trial was to look for effects of multipath due to surface ducting effects over a vast sea channel. This report also describes the uses of MATLAB to process and despread the data obtained from the flight trial. Several parameters were identified and explored and various ducting parameters were also used to determine the presence of ducting effects. Detailed analyses on the data logged were also mentioned in the report. Furthermore, this report also covers the description of experiments conducted throughout the course of the Final Year Project and a description of the ship trial conducted in January 2010.
