Description
Summary:Today power monitoring development is a part of energy efficiency in the industrials, buildings and even residential segments of the market. However, most power monitoring instruments today uses current transformers technology which is relatively expensive. This project aims to create a portable yet inexpensive power monitoring system using the Rogowski Coil. This Final Year Project (FYP) provides the author experiences and exposures in the power monitoring instruments used. The author also has a better understanding of project management and developed his critical thinking with the different problem solving opportunities. This report first contains the literature review followed by objective, background of the FYP and scope of the report. The theories involved, project management and various development progresses are also included. The development progresses are segmented into design and setup of Rogowski coil, acquisition hardware and digital integrator, acquisition software, testing, calibration and results. The development progresses in the respective segment as mentioned will be further elaborated in each chapter.
