Some of the advantages of DVB over analog TV are reduced bandwidth due to MPEG compression, and the ability to broadcast higher resolution pictures. This project is a continuation of previous projects which have implemented an embedded system that can tune, receive and stream live DVB-T channels using NXP Semiconductor’s Nexperia Processor PNX1500 (TriMedia platform). This setup consists of a tuning device, demultiplexer, decoder and renderer. This project involves the creation of an application program that can tune a USB DVB-T receiver to receive transport streams in an attempt to obtain live streaming by integrating the application with the demultiplexer, decoder and renderer of the embedded system described above.
