Description
Summary:This dissertation will present the new multi-stage methods which are based on “Financial analysis extends management of R&D” which provide a financial model with multi-stage methods to solve the allocation issue among research, development and acquisition. The method of this dissertation is simple and highly intuitive; the core method is to figure out the NPV of different investments, and all the sub-works are serving for this core method. We apply our methods to a simulated project with actual data from NOKIA investment and revenue reports ftom 1994 to 2003. We demonstrate that when many other methods cannot process this issue, the methods of this dissertation can explain the reason that the proportion of investments in research, development and acquisition changes according to the economic environment during these years.
