Description
Summary:Recent years, the development in rectifying antenna (Rectenna), has brought a new paradigm to the researches on wireless power transfer. Rectenna design is becoming an emerging field in the interest of wireless sensor networks, control units, biomedical implants and mobile device energy harvesting. Low power level is a valued characteristic in those applications due to high exposure to human interaction. Evolutions on rectenna geometry, array arrangement, filter topology and rectifying circuits have contributed greatly to the optimization of energy transfer efficiency. The objective of this project is to study on antenna characteristic and performance, with focus on the replication and investigation process on existing rectenna geometry designs. The author aims to get a comprehensive view on rectenna array design, simulation and test from this project. Theoretical studies are also discussed with study on two different types of rectenna array.
